Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC) is a highly efficient inorganic polymer coagulant. Ruvon supplies the premium Drinking Water Grade (30% Alumina), which is free from heavy metals and offers superior coagulation performance compared to traditional Alum, even in cold water.

Product Overview

PAC is replacing Alum in municipal water treatment plants worldwide. Why? Because it consumes less alkalinity (doesn't drop pH drastically), creates denser flocs that settle faster, and generates significantly less sludge, reducing disposal costs.

  • Rapid Flocculation: Forms flocs quicker than Alum, increasing plant throughput.
  • Wide Range: Works effectively across a wide pH range (5.0 to 9.0).
  • Low Residual: Leaves very low residual aluminium in treated water, meeting WHO standards.

Mechanism: The "Magnet Effect"

Charge Neutralization & Bridging

Dirt, clay, and bacteria in water usually carry a Negative Charge, causing them to repel each other and stay suspended (turbidity).

  • The Positive Force: PAC releases highly positive Poly-Aluminium ions. These ions act like magnets, neutralizing the negative charge of the dirt.
  • Bridging: Once neutralized, the long polymer chains of PAC "bridge" these particles together, forming heavy clumps called "Flocs" that settle down rapidly, leaving clear water on top.

Safety & Handling Protocols

Handling Guidelines

PAC is slightly acidic and corrosive to metals.

  • Equipment: Use plastic (PVC/FRP) or rubber-lined tanks and pumps. Do not use Iron or Aluminum containers.
  • PPE: Wear gloves and safety goggles. Prolonged skin contact can cause irritation.
  • Solution: Prepare fresh 5-10% solution for dosing. Do not store diluted solution for more than 24 hours.
