Hydros 88% (Textile Grade)
Sodium Hydrosulphite is a powerful, white crystalline reducing agent with a slight sulfur odor. It is the gold standard for reductive bleaching in the textile and paper industries. Ruvon supplies premium 88% purity grade, ensuring rapid oxygen removal and efficient dyeing of VAT dyes (Indigo) for denim.
Sodium Hydrosulphite is chemically unstable in the presence of moisture and air, which is why we supply it in tightly sealed iron drums. Its primary function is to remove oxygen, which makes it ideal for preventing oxidation or reversing colors.
Comparison of Standard 85% and Premium 88% grades.
| Parameter | Hydros 85% | Hydros 88% |
|---|---|---|
| Purity ($Na_2S_2O_4$) | 85.0% Min | 88.0% Min |
| Appearance | Free Flowing White Crystalline Powder | |
| Iron (Fe) | Max 20 ppm | Max 10 ppm |
| Zinc (Zn) | Max 1 ppm | Max 1 ppm |
| Water Insoluble | Max 0.1% | Max 0.05% |
| Sodium Carbonate ($Na_2CO_3$) | 2.0 - 6.0% (Stabilizer) | 2.0 - 5.0% |
Indigo dye (used for Jeans) is naturally insoluble in water (like a stone). It cannot enter the cotton fiber.
Crucial for dyeing cotton with Indigo and VAT dyes. Ensures deep, uniform penetration.
Reductive clearing agent to remove unfixed dyes or strip color from faulty batches.
Bleaches mechanical pulps (newspaper/magazines) to high brightness without degrading yield.
Bleaches Kaolin (China Clay) by reducing red iron oxide contaminants to colorless forms for white ceramics.
Used as a reducing agent in organic synthesis and purification processes.
Sometimes used for bleaching sugar syrup (Food grade required).
Mandatory. Air-tight metal drums with double inner liners to prevent moisture ingress.
Drums are strapped to pallets for safe handling.
Hydros decomposes exothermically (releases heat) if exposed to moisture/air.
Available in 85% and 88% Purity. Fresh iron drum stock.
