Product Overview

Potassium Hydroxide (KOH), commonly known as Caustic Potash, is a colorless solid that acts as a strong base. It has many industrial and niche applications, most of which exploit its reactivity toward acids and its corrosive nature.

Ruvon International supplies Mercury-Free, Membrane Grade Caustic Potash sourced from top-tier manufacturers in Gujarat. Unlike Caustic Soda (NaOH), Caustic Potash is preferred in applications where high solubility and low sodium content are required, such as in liquid fertilizers and specialized soaps.

Critical Storage Protocols

Highly Deliquescent Material

Caustic Potash absorbs moisture from the air extremely rapidly, turning into a liquid solution if left exposed. It also absorbs CO2 to form Potassium Carbonate.

  • Airtight Storage: Always store in original tightly sealed containers. Do not store in aluminum or zinc containers.
  • Exothermic Reaction: When dissolving in water, add flakes slowly to water (never water to flakes) as it generates immense heat.
  • PPE Mandatory: Full face shield, rubber gloves, and apron are mandatory. Causes severe skin burns and eye damage.
