Polyester Grade
Diethylene Glycol (DEG) is a clear, colorless, odorless, and hygroscopic liquid. It is a heavier co-product of Ethylene Glycol. Ruvon supplies high-purity Polyester Grade DEG, which is essential for manufacturing Unsaturated Polyester Resins (UPR), Polyurethanes, and plasticizers where flexibility is key.
DEG has properties similar to MEG but with a higher boiling point and viscosity. This makes it an excellent solvent for nitrocellulose, resins, dyes, and oils. In the cement industry, it is widely used as a grinding aid to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
Conforms to Polyester Grade Standards.
| Parameter | Specification Limit |
|---|---|
| Purity (DEG) | 99.8% Min |
| Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) | Max 0.20% |
| Tri Ethylene Glycol (TEG) | Max 0.20% |
| Water Content | Max 0.05% |
| Acidity (as Acetic Acid) | Max 20 ppm |
| Specific Gravity (20/20°C) | 1.1170 - 1.1200 |
| Color (Pt-Co) | Max 10 |
| Ash Content | Max 50 ppm |
While MEG makes plastics rigid (like bottles), DEG makes them flexible.
Used to manufacture flexible unsaturated polyester resins for fiberglass boats, buttons, and car parts.
Added during cement production to reduce energy cost and prevent clumping of cement powder.
High boiling point makes it an ideal base component for hydraulic brake fluids.
Raw material for synthesizing Morpholine, used in rubber chemicals and optical brighteners.
Solvent for nitrocellulose resins, printing inks, and wood stains.
Absorbs moisture from natural gas streams to prevent pipeline corrosion.
Standard heavy-duty drums. Virgin quality maintained.
Bulk supply (20-25 MT) for large resin and cement factories.
Handle with extreme care. Not classified as flammable (Flash point > 120°C).
99.8% Polyester Grade. High Purity. Direct Import.
