Ortho Xylene (OX) is the second most important commercial isomer of xylene. It is a clear, colorless liquid produced by the distillation of Mixed Xylenes. Its primary and most vital application is as the raw material for manufacturing Phthalic Anhydride (PAN), which is essential for making PVC plasticizers.
In the "Xylene Family," Ortho Xylene is the heavy brother. It has the highest boiling point (144°C) compared to Meta and Para isomers. This property allows it to be separated from mixed xylene streams by distillation. Ruvon supplies high-purity OX suitable for chemical synthesis and specialized solvent applications.
Conforms to ASTM D-5071 Standard.

Ortho Xylene is the starting point for making PVC soft (like artificial leather or cables). Here is the chain:
The single largest use (~90%). Precursor to plasticizers and alkyd resins.
Used in the production of alkyd resins for paints, enamels, and varnishes.
Solvent carrier for herbicides and pesticides due to high solvency.
Intermediate in the synthesis of Phthalocyanine dyes (Blue/Green pigments).
Used to manufacture specialized additives for lubricating oils.
Solvent and intermediate for vitamin and antibiotic synthesis.
Standard heavy-duty steel drums. Ideal for distribution.
Bulk supply (18-20 MT) for PAN manufacturers and large paint plants.
Ortho Xylene is a Class 3 Flammable Liquid.
Virgin OX Isomer. High Purity for PAN & Resin Production.
