API 13A Standard
Barite is a dense mineral comprising Barium Sulfate. Ruvon supplies API 13A Section 7 compliant Barite, the primary weighting agent used in drilling fluids. It increases the density of the mud to control formation pressure, stabilize the borehole, and prevent blowouts during oil and gas exploration.
Our Barite is chemically inert, non-abrasive, and has a high specific gravity. It does not react with other drilling fluid additives and does not interfere with magnetic measurements in the borehole.
Guaranteed compliance with American Petroleum Institute standards.

Drilling allows pressurized gas/oil to try and escape up the hole. To stop this, we fill the hole with "Mud."
Barite Sag occurs when heavy Barite particles settle down in the well when pumping stops. This can cause stuck pipes or pressure loss.
Solution: Ensure your Barite has the correct particle size distribution (PSD). Too many coarse particles (>75 microns) cause settling. Too many fines (<6 microns) increase viscosity too much (Plastic Viscosity). Our API grade balances this perfectly.
90% of global use. Weighting agent for drilling fluids in exploration wells.
Used as an inert filler in brake linings and clutch pads to increase density and heat resistance.
High-quality filler (Blanc Fixe) for primers and industrial paints. Provides chemical resistance.
Used in high-density concrete for hospitals and nuclear plants to block X-rays and Gamma rays.
Filler to increase weight and sound-deadening properties in plastics and acoustic foams.
Used as a flux to lower the melting point and improve clarity in glass manufacturing.
Standard for offshore/onshore rigs. Bottom discharge for hoppers.
For smaller operations or paint/brake industries.
Barium Sulfate is generally insoluble and non-toxic, unlike soluble Barium salts.
