Eco-Friendly Brine
Potassium Formate is a premium organic salt used to prepare solids-free, high-density brine fluids for the oil and gas industry. It offers a superior alternative to traditional chloride and bromide brines by providing high density with low corrosivity, excellent shale stabilization, and full biodegradability.
Potassium Formate is an organic salt of formic acid. In the oilfield, it is valued for its ability to create heavy brines (up to 13.1 PPG or 1.57 SG) without the use of suspended solids like Barite. This prevents "formation damage" (clogging of oil-bearing rocks).
Available in Liquid (75%) and Powder (96%) forms.

Potassium Formate provides two critical advantages in drilling:
Used to create high-density, solids-free brine for well control and formation protection in HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) wells.
Used as a non-corrosive, biodegradable de-icing agent for airport runways and taxiways (replaces urea and glycol).
Efficient secondary coolant for industrial refrigeration due to low viscosity at low temperatures.
Source of Potassium for liquid fertilizers with high solubility.
Used as a catalyst or reagent in various organic synthesis reactions.
Standard blue drums for liquid brine.
High density load. Maximize shipping weight.
Potassium Formate is considered non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
