Product Overview

Ruvon supplies premium Paraformaldehyde which depolymerizes upon heating or in alkaline conditions to release Formaldehyde gas. This gas reacts instantly with sulfides. It serves as a cost-effective alternative to liquid formalin (37%) because it contains negligible water, reducing transport and storage costs by 60%.

Mechanism: The Neutralization Reaction

How does it eat H2S?

When Paraformaldehyde is added to a drilling mud containing lethal $H_2S$ gas, it breaks down into monomeric Formaldehyde.

  • The Reaction: 3 HCHO + 3 $H_2S$ $\rightarrow$ Trithiane + 3 $H_2O$.
  • The Result: The deadly gas is converted into Trithiane, a stable, non-toxic solid precipitate that is easily removed from the mud. This reaction is irreversible, meaning the $H_2S$ will not return.

Which form to choose?

Powder: Dissolves faster due to high surface area. Best for immediate reaction in resin manufacturing or emergency H2S spikes.
Prills (Beads): Free-flowing and less dusty. Easier to handle and store. Preferred for steady dosing in drilling operations where "Dust Explosion" risk needs to be minimized.
